As noted in the previous blog, the onset of the Indian monsoon is an important influencing factor on castor seed prices, as is the forward demand. It has been reported this week by a major Indian financial newspaper that the prices of castor seeds have continued to fall in both the spot and forward markets. This of course has an effect on the castor seed derivatives: 12-HSA & HCO.

The price drop is arguably due to the monsoon commencing on time in India and the lack of boost in demand.
